Livewell switch

I have a 2003 stratos 185 and I am haveing problems with the livewell switch.I am talking about the one that is under the throttle controll.It reads rec. empty and auto.When I put a fish in the livewell I turn it on rec. turn the areators on fill the well 3/4 full add rejuvinade and then ice.My problem is that its letting the water leak out and im loosing my cool water.When I pull my boat out of the water it will let the livewell drain slowly with it on rec.Aybody got any ideas?Maybe I need to be useing auto?

Sounds like maybe you need a new valve . I'd check cable movement and make sure its still stopping the arm at the right position , and if so , new valve . ( as long as I have understood your statement correctly )

It's probably got some funk in the valve. You can try spraying some water thru the livewell drain in the livewell and thru the intakes on the transom. Sometimes that's enough to free it up.

I figured it out when you put it on auto it dont leak.But it may have some gunk in it when you turn it to recirc.I got to thinking if you had it on recirculate you would have water comeing so it may let a little go out to keep the water fresh.Not sure but my problem is fixed just put it on auto.Thanks guys.
