I was just wondering if anyone else is running this combination. I also have a 6" manual jack plate with a 4 blade renegade prop. wondering what your set up is and what you are getting for top speed. Thanks![]()

I have a 2004 285 ProXL with 150 Johnson carbed motor. Other than year models, our rigs are the same. I have a6" jackplate and run a 24 Raker three blade. under the best conditions I get 62 mph GPS at 5400-5500 RPM. In the summer like now I can't seem to turn over 5300 RPM and I am right at 60 WOT. My prop shaft is 3 3/8" below pad.
Mine is a 2004 295XL pro with a Johnson 150 carb motor.....no jackplate, unknown 3 blade prop, full tank of gas with 2 people goes 60mph at 5600rpm. It also has really good hole shot and rides/handles great.
I have the exact same setup and year model. My boat is a dual console not sure if yours is. I am saving my money to switch to a 3 blade raker. The four blade handles weight awesome but unless Im loaded down I cant run full throttle because it will turn around 6200. When Im loaded down I run a solid 59-63 mph at 5600 rpm. Have a 23 renegade Dont have measurement on prop to pad but every boat will be different on the optimum setting. Its not hard to find the sweet spot just take it to the lake with some tools and tinker with it up and down. I have had several boats 2 new triton 20xs and a mid 90s 201 pro and of all the boats I am well pleased with this one. I think this is the most economical right sized bass boat to fish tournaments in for the average angler and they are cheap enough to pay cash forIve thought about upgrading engines this winter to a 175 hpdi. You can buy a new one for around 8k.

I have a 285 PE 99 model with a 175 ficht. I run a 24 Tempest 2 at 2 5/8" below the pad and turn 56-5700 rpm. On my Lowrance gps it run between 65-68mph . holeshot is good with 2 plugs out. Give something like this a try it works good for me. Jerry
