Always check references on a used boat. Mine are pristine when I sell them. I know others who get everything repaired if there is damage. It is the Golden Rule that should prevail. Sounds like the guy selling the boat didn't have any rules at all.

I just do not believe we live in a time where people look out for others, I am not surprise by this. I grew up in a different time and when I spent this much money I could never just trash the object whether it be a boat, car, or anything else. I know that I would sale it at some point and would not want someone see how I destroyed the object. I grew up poor and have always been really proud the good Lord blessed me with a boat so I try to take care of it till it is sold. I wouldn't want to try and deceive someone to buy what I trashed, I do realize that somethings can get by a seller but that will be a few small things. I do realize some will, so I really shop before I buy and I rarely go looking very far off for anything because of people like discuss above. just my .02
I wish you the best of luck going forward and I hope you fine a good boat, just remember it was not Phoenix fault.

My thoughts also. Not sure how anybody can spend 60k and treat the object like that. I admit I am over the top boat OCD but a simple wash and maintenance schedule can go a long way. I don't have to buy a new boat every year because when I pull mine out of the garage every spring it's already like a new boat.

That's a bad deal. Some people have more money than sense sometimes, and don't value what they have worked for. Or maybe they just don't give 2 shits about their stuff.

I think you may have encountered one of the 1% of Phoenix owners that really do not care about their boat.

Should have asked here. I don't know of anyone on this site that would not do a guy a favor. I for one living in SW Missouri would have been willing to do a favor. When I lived in Eastern Kentucky I looked at a boat for a guy from Florida. Gave him a fair evaluation and he made the decision. Just need to ask.

Im looking at 920/921 and have a couple prospects. Its hard looking for used boats. Ive been through them on here 1000 times. There are a few that are priced to sell so we'll see

When I sold my boat I went over EVERYTHING with the buyer. I showed him what did not work properly and was totally upfront about everything. Example, my trim and tilt gauge did not work. Could have left that out, but showed him and told him I did not replace it because the gauge was $600 and I didn't need it. Also had a small crack in the cowling from a dumb ass mistake I made, but a new cowling was $1400. I really believe this honesty helped me to make the sale at a price that was acceptable for both of us.

Hey Fishin... I talked to your navigator while you were out on the test-ride. After he described what you saw prior to doing the test ride, I was worried you were still going to buy it. Just from the damage/issues he described it sounded like it could have been involved in a some kind of accident while being trailered.

Have you talked to Wieda's? They have a couple of used ones. One is a 721.

Why did you even bother with a test ride?

Ah. Makes sense. Sorry for your misfortune. I had a similar situation but not nearly that bad of abuse. But, it was misrepresented. Trouble is, I traveled 1400 miles to see it. Lesson learned the hard way. I'll never travel that far again.
