    bass crashing through bait

Thought I'd share a few cool images I got this past summer. I stumbled upon a cove filled with herring and the bass weren't far behind. the bait had to easily stretch the length of a football field and was anywhere from on the surface to over 30' down. Every smallmouth I caught had 5-10 others following it to the boat. I captured a few images of the bass crashing through the bait balls which was really cool to see come across the screen.

Neat pictures. Those voltage readings may be a little low...LOL

Pretty cool.....kinda looks like the predators take a circular swipe thru the bait....up from the bottom and back down.

+2 on the voltage....surprised you aren't having intermittent issues at the level.

yeah I need 4 new batteries. After a charge it reads 11-11.5 volts and by the end of the day it's down to the low 9's. Just trying to decide what to replace them with

Check the voltage at the battery with a multi-meter ..... The loss my be in your wiring. What do you get when the main motor is running?

    This is what I thought^^^

and I would guess if your motor starts it is a voltage loss on its way to your sonars somewhere.

    Really cool images tho!

thats exactly what I thought at first too!

As far as what the volts are when running the gas motor I'll have to check next time I'm out. Being in jersey I'm usually on electric only lakes so I never paid much attention to it. I've also just read that the electronics should be wired direct to the battery with an inline fuse and they are wired through the fuse box. I don't know if that can cause the drop or not, any thoughts?

If they are wired thru the stock fuse box, that could definitely be a problem....many problems are caused by this. If you compare the voltage at the battery to the voltage reading on the unit that will tell you what you need to know. There shouldn't be much drop at all if properly wired....I would investigate if you are getting any more than .2 - .3 volt drop.

Thanks Bob I'll check the voltage out at the battery!
