    201 PRO XL Stereo install

Hope this doesnt hurt my chance of catching a DD at Falcon next week. Just wanted some low backgroud music while fishing using my Ipod. I bought a Sony CDX-M10 and 2 Polk 5-1/2 inch speakers.
The install went well except for a gel coat ding under the receiver. Cut the holes with a jig saw, went thru about 5 blades. Found creative ways to run the wires. Soldered all connections, used heat shrink.
The last shot shows the antenna location, bought it from Cabelas. The equipment from Crutchfield, they were very helpful with a minor problem with the receiver. Had to send it back to be replaced. They mailed a new out in 2 days!
It sounds much better than I thought, very good bass at decent volume.
Hope this helps someone! Spent about $300.

It has an input on the front.
If someone fishes once a week or on a very regular basis, the thing to do would be to get a Satellite radio receiver.
I have XM in all my vehicles but chose to go with a simpler approach in the BB. I have an Ipod touch 32 GB that is FULL!
I may have more music in there than Sirius/XM!

I pulled out the cup holder and used a fishtape to get back to the battery compartment. Then around and behind the compartment on the port side. There is an access hole in that compartment that was a big help. Then you can reach thru to the speaker holes!
    Piece of cake!
I fished today and it was really nice! Caught more fish with the radio on than off!

    Re: (garnerac)

I have the same receiver with matching sony speakers and it sounds great. I also have my 30g ipod filled and it goes every time I go fishing. After having a boat with a stereo I will definitely have one in any boat I own in the future. Before having the stereo I used my phone, wich has an 8g memory card filled with my favorites.
