Stereo speakers in a 200XL

I finished mounting my stereo in my storage compartment between the seats but can't figure out just where to mount the speakers. Anybody install a stereo in their boat and ,if so, where did you mount the speakers??

Mike....Did you angle them out to prevent the sound from being muffled?

Now those are some nice speakers....mount in the livewells and flip open the lids.....hhhmmmmmm.

I actually bought different outdoor speakers. These look better than what I have. Just make sure that the ohms are correct. I know someone that just called this company and ordered these. Even though they say 8 ohms on the net, they are 4.

Mine sound fine under the console and can not be seen, off the floor, and out of the elements.

I bought a 2008 201XL with a stereo. The speakers are mounted just in front of the seats on each side of the boat. They face each other (towards the center of the boat in front of where we sit). This is a much better set up than I have seen in other boats that have the speakers facing either forward or backwards. I can adjust the volume so both people fishing can enjoy the system without having it too soft or loud. When the speakers face either forward or backwards it seems the system will prevent conversation because one person won't be able to hear over the music. Just my opinion and observation.

Do you have any pics of the mounted stereo and speakers? I have a 08 201 that I would like to install a stereo system in. Looking for sum ideas.
