    Cold Start-99 200 omc

Has there been a problem with 99 200 hp evinrude cold weather start? I'm using a 1000 amp batt. and it still doesn't spin fast enough to fire the ignition. It doesn't sound like the starter is dragging, or getting hot. It will start if you jump straight to the starter with cables and yes I have checked all connections.

You need to do a voltage drop test between the solenoid and the starter. Hook a meter to the positive side of the solenoid and see what it is. Then hook the positive lead to the positive post on the starter and try and spin it and see what the volts are. Chances are you have a bad solenoid.
