'07 201 likes dislikes?

Found a new 07 201 with a 250 hpdi. After looking around the net on prices for used this would be a good buy.
I have never owned a stratos, but friend has an 05 195 xl. Have been in it alot since selling my tin boat. One thing I have noticed is his compartments leak. everything is rusty and mold.

Pease tell me likes AND dislikes. I don't want to buy it then regret it.

Hey Dave, I have a 07 201XL 250 HPDI(single console) and LOVE it.No problems as of yet..Rides great and is dry.Runs 77-78mph(GPS) tourney loaded.I have the pro storage compartments and they rock.Also have the net storage compartment in the back and it is nice.If the one your looking at isn't a dual console,I would look in to the storage step thingy that they make(Installs between the seats).I have one and is great for storing all your little stuff.(Heck if I had a dual console I would have still bought the step,to keep people from stepping on my seats..)Only dislike I have....Is you can't flush install the new bigger style Lowrance's or Hummingbird units in the console or bow...I think the 2009 Evo took care of that..If it's priced right and will fit in your garage...I would go for it

Ken, It is a DC and seller tells me it has everything except the kitchen sink(which he can add). It has a minn kota 101(maxxum),4bank charger, PTO( is this the pro tackle orginizer?) I don't know what graphs guessing lowrance. Anyways LOADED for the price of 32,100.00. Looking around that's a great price.( Right?)

PTO storage is what I was talkin about.Sounds like a great price if rig is in good shape Is this a new rig or used??If used how many hours are on the HPDI? Just wondering if is Brand NEW??If it is then that's a heck of a deal

It sells as new (demo) has ,get this, 3 hours on the 250 yammie. also comes with 2 props, a 26 and 27 pitch. The only problem is the darn thing is blue. Blue is my murphy color anything that can go wrong will. that is my experence with Blue anything.

I think your right, I gotta go for it.

I have an 04 201/250 Yami and I love it... Fast, stable, dry ride and did I mention fast!!!
I really have no dislikes, except the cooler does not keep ice very well, but really like everything else...

If your buddies front center locker is leaking, he needs to check the drain tube that goes on the bottom of the seat pin mount...It can get knocked off from putting stuff in the locker...This is the only leak I have ever had in my compartments...Only other place to leak is around the latches...

Sounds like a decent price, if really only 3 hours on it..

Man I would go for it!!!Is this from a dealer??That isn't even past break-in Check to see if it has the new updated oil pump.There was a recall on the pumps If from a dealer have them give you the computer printout on the engine...(Hours and how many rpm's it has been ran at) Also be sure to water test it. When you get it post us some pics.

Yes all updates have been done.The only problem with water testing is the 7 inches of ice. I told them I would buy it but come spring If we test it and I don't like it. He said you will have a boat you don't like. So I'll talk to the warden and see what she thinks about this. She wants a Ranger 620 walleye boat.(She walked right off the back of my old bass boat) Do you know how hard it is to NOT laugh while your making sure she is O.K?

You ain't seen FAST YET!!!!!!If you get that (201XL)boat set-up right....It will FLY!!!!I'm running a B&B Mark Croxton 27 Tempest Plus with a hydralic plate and can run 81.3 mph(GPS)@6000rpms with me and 1/4 tank of fuel...(Nothing but saftey gear and my little 150lb butt )Takes a good amount of driver input at that speed to hold it there But runs 78 with tourney load and full fuel with very little input...Hope everything works out for you ....IM me if you need any help with set-up

Hell I told the wife I should talk to the dealer and tow it down to you for the water test. It's only 16 hrs I'm guessing.
What do you think it would do "stock" with a 27p and 1/2 tank and my slender 235lbs?

If you find the SWEET spot it will run in the upper 70's.....My Yammie loves this cooler weather and cooler water temps..Ran 79mph Thursday loaded with 2 people. Heck come on down it will be a freezing 59 degree's tomorrow

yeah rub it in. I think we are looking at a low of -4 tonight and a high of somthing like 10 for sunday.

Sounds like you're looking at pretty much the same set-up as mine. 07 201XL with 250 HPDI, MK 101.

I've been running this boat for a year now and here's my list of things I don't like:

That's it. Nothing about this boat I don't love. The ride is the best, the speed, the handling, the storage and layout, fit and finish, and just plain overall "fishability". I'd be hard pressed to trade it for anything else....except maybe Mike Allen's new Evo... (even trade of course)

Dave, my 07 201 w/HPDI seemed to be the best peforming 201 I've had. Maybe that year's engine was the strongest, don't know why, it just was. I personally like the tube trailers on 07 and prior years because I think they look good, but the company has switched over to coated C-channel trailers for 08 and beyond.
