Am I the only one having problems getting parts from BRP.

We all know that older model parts are getting harder to source, but give me a break when you can't get VRO pumps for later models. I have had these on order for approx. 1 month now. Was told by a parts rep. there last week they were in the warehouse and about to ship. Called today and was told it would be ANOTHER 2-3 WEEKS!!!! Give us a break BRP! E-TEC's aren't the only product that you have out there still running.

Be glad they are waiting. My mechanic has installed 4 VRO pumps on my 1998 175, over the last 2 months, and none of them will pump oil. My boat is sitting and waiting on a good one. Come March 1, I might have to do something I never wanted to do......................premix my gas and oil. How can I trust a pump to work now?

Why not try looking somewhere else?

I get most of my stuff from Bestboatparts.com. Usually cheaper then the dealer by a wide margin.

I also have a tough time believing 4 new VRO pumps don't work. You sure your repair guy knows what he is doing? Maybe something else is up? Like a clogged filter, or an air leak.

Yes, I have a hard time believing it too. But, my mechanic is top notch. I have been with him when installing one of them. Install and hook up a clear piece of oil line, turned up like a snorkle. Fill line with oil, and start motor. Oil moved on initial start up, then never used another drop while motor runs on premix gas can. My mechanic can't believe it either. He has been working on OMC all his life, and he is about to retire. He shakes his head. Never seen nothing like it.

BRP has acknowledged that they have had issues recently and are trying to get it corrected.

We are a dealership and can't get the pumps. That sounds right though If they have had problems they won't let anyone know that.
