I'm pretty sure that it is 40 gallons!

my 1994 had 2 25 gallon tanks so if you have 2 tanks it most likely is 50 gallons. when I replaced mine I used 1 50 gallon worked and fit fine.

only real way to know is look at the stickers or fill it up from empty.
i was told my 295 pro had a 36 gal fuel capacity,when i put x number of gallons in it it didn't seem like the gauge was right,when i had it apart to re carpet it on the sticker it says 48 gallon.
My 97 201 PE is 52 gallons. Im assuming its the same as yours I went up and tore out my seats and cap because you made me curious. It was on the top of the tank.
I sure appreciate what you did for an answer and all the input from our brother members . I know its more than 40 gal., guess I'll just have to tell the mrs. I need to go fishing for the weekend and run out 45 . Than I'll know its a 52 . I just redid the carpet in this and I got so busy putzin with the sending unit I forgot to look . Go figure . But , again I thank you all and hope you have a great holiday .
Mine was labeled right behind the metal plate that says "don't drill here" between the seats. You might try to take it off and see. BTW, mine is 52 gallons too.
