New Yamaha Series 2

Is the Series 2 Yamaha actually stronger/faster. What upgrades were made to the engine?

Changed injectors and a couple of other things. It's still the same technology, block, etc. Some early reports said they were stronger, but I have yet to see that with any that I have been around.

I havent seen any notable speed/performance numbers either. Yamaha still number 3 in the running IMHO.

All depends on what boat you put it on and how it's set up.

I would guess that a 225 HO or 250 HO would do the job on the majority of bass boats, with correct setup on same kind of boat, with one running a Yamaha 225/250 and the other with a Evinrude (both motors stock out of the box).
