Nope. 6" is all you'll see on these except in rare cases.

What exactly do you need help with?

    What motor, prop, jackplate, etc.?

Here's a little more info on his rig:http://www.bbcboards.net...48798

At the least I would get a 23, 24 Tempest. A 6'' plate would be better I believe.

what kind of speeds is that rig actually capable of,is 64-65 a realistic goal with a 150 on that boat?

It is with a light load. I could run 65 with an '04 285 with a 150 Johnson, 6" plate, and 25 Tempest.

I just bought an 06 285 with a 175 johnson on it,had it 3 weeks now and since our water is frozen i haven't had the chance to get it out and play with it yet.Its got a 6 inch plate and a 3 blade raker, not sure what size the prop is,,,,,,,basically i have no idea where the plate is set at or much about the set up at all, just too cold to get out and measure and check it out.Temps have been anywhere from 0-30 here lately,as soon as it warms up i'll get out and check it out like i should. What can i expect from this boat with the 175 on it set up right?thanks for your help

You should get 65 or so out of it. The 175 isn't that much stronger than the 150.

You're probably running a 24 Raker. That's a good prop and the only other thing I would suggest is a 25 Tempest. I loved that prop on my 285.

Set it around 3 1/4" below pad (instructions on how to measure are pinned at the top of the Stratos board).
