Re: Just got a new (Limmy)

I have a 23 and a 25, but my brother in law has the 25 right now. I think he is hoping I will forget about it.

You should be able to get a decent 25 for about 150 if you look around and are patient. The 23's seem to be a little tougher. I finally got one for that price but I had alot of sales fall thru.

My 23 was about 1 mph slower on my old boat. The difference in acceleration was worth it though. Unless I was fishing by my self, I ran the 23 all the time.

I want to send my 23 to Mark and let him do a B&B on it, maybe add a little tip cup too.

Re: Just got a new (used) toy!!! Asking for advice and tips. (Limmy)

Limmy my back-up prop is a 23 renegade bass with added cupping. If you don't mind losin a couple of mph it has a better holeshot and won't be a whiteknuckle adventure in rough water.

Re: Just got a new (mgtl82)

Hello Mgtl82, Thanks for the info on the Renegades. I'm not looking for a Rocket or an unsafe ride. I'd like to get 60 MPH. The boat is new to me and all I've had until now is a Lund ProV, that gets 40 MPH with its' 90 Evinrude.

With the new/used 91 295 Pro, I know it's going to be a learning experience but I'm sure looking forward to it. And, I might just do some Bass Fishin too!!!!

I really appreciate the generosity of all the members here at BBC. I can hardly wait to get home at night or check the web at work to find out more great info.

Lockjaw, I might have to ask your brother in law if he's got any props for sale When I get this rig cleaned up and the weather breaks, I'm gonna get in touch with you for more info and advice on props. As with all the other posters on this thread, I thank you all. Rick

Re: Just got a new (Lockjaw)

I have a gade and a raker for my boat. Had a 20p raker and a 21p gade. The raker was faster, but turned too many rpm's. Got a 22p raker, and it runs flat without any lift. Probably send it to Mark and see if he can help that.

The gade runs a little hot, but not so much that it worries me. My boat just has a 115 on it, but get about 50 in the summer on the gps with it. The original raker got more bow lift and ran about 54 in the summer consistently.

Hey Stratos NCO, That's a nice ride right there. Why didn't you like the Johnson?

Re: Just got a new (Limmy)

Yeah yeah, he might sell you a raker. I think he is pretty fond of my gade. He said he would return it quickly, that was this summer. I think in June or July.

Just hollar and me and let me know. I am running a Tr04 right now, and really like it, I just can't turn it as high as I would like.

I have a 24p turbo too. Its a nice smooth prop, good holeshot, not as fast on the top though. You will like the 4th blade if you fish anywhere the water is rough. It makes a BIG difference in my opinion.

Re: Just got a new (Lockjaw)

Lockjaw, Thanks, I really have a lot to learn when it comes to props. I guess I'll just have to wait till spring and try some.

I'm not looking for 75 mph like some of the 201's and such, I'd just like to hit 60 or so to know that I've got it.

I'm going to definately keep the 4 blade Shooter for the big water. We're close to Lakes Erie and St. Clair, where there are a few smallmouths swimming around and it can get rough pretty easy out there.

I'll be back in touch, Rick
