THE prop for a 201 Pro XL and 225 HO DI...

2005 Boat, DC, 225 HO Rude DI, not ETEC... Hydro jackplate... What's THE prop for this setup? I need holeshot, since I carry way more gear than necessary, but wanna haul donkey when the time comes... What's the right prop... Have not bought the boat yet, but thinking really hard on this one... Got a 'gade on it now... I'm thinkin' 27" Trophy, or does the 201 not need so much 4 blade lift?

27 Tempest.......we do use the 27 Trophy for those who are chinewalk challenged from time to time.

i don't know why you're laughing trent, i've ridden with you. even if you had a 9 blade on your old boat you'd still be all over the place.

I have a 04 201 proxl 225 ho di with thew 27 tempest and top end i think good be better. I've gone from 2.5 to 4 inches on the pad. Tops out at 67-68 gps @ 5600 hole shot is okay. I have spent a lot of gas money doing tests and just can't seem to find the sweet spot. wondering if something is wrong with the setup or the motor.

I don't think you can turn a 27 with that combo. I had a 20 xl with the 225 ho and a 26 trophy worked great. GPS 74.6 at 6000 with two people and my tackle with 1/2 tank of gas.
