Need a lake near Scranton PA for a test drive

I might be trading my boat with a fellow BBC member, we agreed to meet half way to test drive each others boat. Scranton area is about half way for both of use, looking for a lake that is large enough to open them up but not have to worry about the pop up rock piles or sand bars. Any help would be much appreciated.

wallenpaupack or harveys lake. I suggest Wallenpaupack as it's much bigger and more room to run the boats.

The lake isn't really that low yet. Its been at 1180.0 for a week. Last info was the big drop starts 9/17. Stay away from the Wilsonville area and you should be fine.

Well we are planning on the 29th, are there any other lakes that are half way between CT and MD?

    Beach

How about Lake Hopatcong in New Jersey. Might be a little closer for you, but a little farther for someone in MD.

I think you need a operator permit in Jersey? I'm not sure if it goes by age or not.

I looked it up and you do on inland waterways for powered vessels.

You can try the Delaware River near Philadelphia or Camden where BASS launched out of last year. Union Lake in South Jersey. Or Greenwood Lake on the NY/NJ border.

Neshaminey state park Delaware river ( Croydon pa.) You can string them out there ! It's pretty cool but pay attention to the tides.
Up to 8 ft between high and low tide, no problem if you run the channel / shipping lanes. Brackish water though.
