    Rocker Switch Removal Questions

OK, I'm on a LED light "kick" and wanting to replace the lights in the rocker switches with LEDs, if possible. As you all know, LEDs use considerably less electricity and generate far less heat than the "element" bulbs used in most boats. I've already experimented with many different 12v LED bulbs, and have eliminated all but one vendor.

    My questions:

Are the bulbs replaceable in the rocker switches?

How do you remove the bulbs from the rocker switches?

How do you remove the rocker switches from their places in the console?

And finally, does anyone know what style of bulb is used in these rocker switches (192 or 168, etc)?

    All knowledgeable replies appreciated!

I'd be dropping this guy an IM mikedaleo I swear all his boat was missing was the disco ball and some good lookin wommens and we had all the makins of an old fashioned disco dance with all the LED's Mike had lit up in his boat at the last BBC Mini Rally.

All the Day-Viz links seemed to be down when i tried them just now.

Since Jason knew the new URL here is Mikes contact info.

    Bluewaterled@gmail.com

That would be where I would start for any LED application on a boat.

    Jerry,

The rocker switches are usually removed by squeezing the tabs from the rear that hold them in place, then they just pop back in. You may find it easier to replace the entire switch itself, rather than try to disassemble it and "custom fit" an led in place of a small bulb. If you can get me a pic or part number, I may be able to get you a deal on a switch. No promises, but I will try.

Re: Rocker Switch Removal Questions (mikedaleo)

After looking real fast, the only LED rockers I can come up with right now are the SPST type. Let me know if that is what you need. I will do some more looking for you tomorrow and ask about the type of led that goes in them.

Mike, their bulbs have already replaced the OEM ones in my rig. The five LED models are really bright and cheaper than dirt. You should check out the blue ones!
