I fished with a guy yesterday whose buzzer started going off as soon as he fired the motor. He shut it down and started it 5 or 6 times and then it quit making the noise.
He recently changed the impellor, seems to have a strong stream, but doesn't have a pressure gauge. Since his buzzer quit after a few starts and didn't not go off again the rest of the day, what do you think (stuck thermostat or something else)?
Well, a model and year would help with giving out the correct information.
A quick check, assuming that it uses a separate oil tank in the boat, is to disconnect the oil tank wires at the motor to see if the buzzer quits. A flakey oil level sender is a common problem with older engines.

I'd give you a model and year if I had one. All I know is it is about an 89-91 100 hp. He lives in another town so I don't have good access to the motor. Would the oil sensor give a sound for a while then quit making noise after the engine warmed up?
