I've been looking at the Stratos 176XT and was impressed with what I read,
especially the price, and I'm hopeing that someone out there has some practical experience with the boat... Please let me know good and bad.....

I'm not trying to sell you a boat....you need to see your local dealer for that.
With that out of the way, no one sells more Stratos Boats than me.......I've had NO customer complaints about the boat and only 1 warranty repair...and that was a graph. Stabilty is superb, ride is very good, handling is very good and storage for a 17' rig is outstanding!
Great boat! None have been traded back in and it's killed my aluminum boat market. The 176 is a winner.

Todd I just checked TowneMarines website, did you make them take down that title???? I know they had it up for a while, but now they changed it to multi year #1 stratos dealer
Retired Willy if you havn't seen a boat I believe there are a couple stratos dealers within a couple hours of you maybe one of them will actually have one you can crawl around in. Good luck in your search!
RW, just keep in mind that you are looking at a fiberglass boat. If you want to fish the Susky the best places need an aluminum boat with a jet. I was willing to give that up for some of the advantages of a glass boat, but you need to be aware of it when deciding what to get.

I purchased a boat from them last year. He sold it to me with a bad motor (unknown to me) Called them the very next day and the sales person said I do not remember you!!!! I asked to speek with owner, he was not able to come to the phone. After 3 weeks of calling and leaving a message he called me back. On the sales slip the motor was valued at $2000.00 He said that he was only going to give me back $900.00. I was so mad I had to get off the phone with him. my wife called and she talked to him and she siad no one has been that rude and ugly to her as he was on the phone. So long story short he said he would mail the check to me for $900.00 it took almost a month before I got it, and to add to that like what is posted above he was claiming for years to be the #1 Stratos dealer. Seems like he lies to everyone. I checked with BBB and he has SEVERAL claims against him. Do not do business with him.

I was just wondering, cause I just bought a boat from them and while I was there, there were several repeat customers there shopping for there next boat....And I did check the BBB before I bought and there was only one claim up there and the BBB thought they provided a good enough solution to the problem.....
But hopefully I don't have the problems you had, I bought my boat without a motor.
And what do you mean the motor didn't run? Was it blown up?
