Clarification on Pump Out feature for Stratos 200 or 201 PRO XLs

I have an 05 200 Pro XL and was curious about the pump out feature after reading one of the posts. If I look inside the live wells I'll see a red valve that will need to be pulled out in order to, and I’m assuming here, that the bilge feature will then be used to pump water out the side of the boat.

Is that correct? It would make things much easier than holding a tourney bag under the drain holes

Is there any disadvantages or draw backs to this?

    Thanks!

You don't use the bilge pump, use the main livewell recirc pump manual toggle switch for the respective livewell. In essence, pulling the red valve out, just re-routes the water out of your boat instead of into the livewell.

    Hope that helps??

On my 05 200 ProXL I have 4 switches on the console for the livewells, they are all labled the same. The two switches on the right operate the right livewell, the two on the left operate the left livewell. The top switch is the recirculate/pumpout pump. The bottom switch is the freshwater pump. To pump the water out of the livewell pullout the red valve and turn on the recirculate/pumpout switch. I went through the same thing trying to figure it out. You would think that Stratos would put this in the owners manual but they don't.

    Excellent !!

Thanks allot for the quick responses. I'll give that a try and pass that bit of knowledge around.

You would think that Stratos would include that int he owners manul.

You're right on the money with this statement.
