question for C and O marine...

well, here in NY its snowing with about 8"s on the boat. I have a new trolling motor in the garage ans when I get the boat out of storage I need a little help installing the new TM. here is the question...
after I get the front panel off, what tools and sizes will I need? considering the weather, I want to get this done as fast and painless as possible...
    2006 200XL...
    thanks!

What troll motor do you have on the boat and what motor are you installing?

That will be a pretty straight-forward swap. John will know the correct size. Just give him a little while to get up. He waited up last night for you to answer and had a few Bud Light's while he waited. He's probably moving a little slow this morning.

No problem with the wait... the boat is still covered up from the winter... got an additional 8" on it yesterday... and I just got called into work the rest of the week so looks like the boat has another few days before I even get to it... here in NY its mid april and weather has been like early march... this is the latest I haven't been out fishing in about 9 years! So when I go, switch motors and get on the water!! looking forward to the universal sonar feature and no more wires...
Got it from a BBC sponsor jones TM real nice to deal with... one problem though...
when you call these people all over the country they tell you how nice the weather is there... then I look out the window at snow....

You will need a phillips screw driver and a 7/16 inch socket or wrench to take it off. If you use a socket get a deep well to get it off.

Thanks... I go get it Tommorrow morning and hope to do the swap in the afternoon... Tools are ready to go...
Now if that cover will just show up...
You don't need to plow that out... hook it up and Drive about 20 miles at 75... snow all gone...
From what I can see, real nice looking Stratos...

Re: question for C and O marine... (06Stratos201PXLDC)

    very nice in the sun!
well, I pulled it off today! Had a day off, did some chores and went to pick it up... yanked the cover off and had a 16" iceberg in the bottom. dragged it home and started to switch the motors... took my time, keeping track of everything... pretty orginized... got the old one off and came to the part that the Techy's at C and O didn't tell me...
NOTCHING THE MOUNT TO FIT A STRATOS!!!
had to go to the hardware store buy a small hacksaw and between that, a razor knife and about 30 minutes, finally got it right! took my time and bolted everything down, since I have straps all over the place, I put 2 tie down straps instead of 1... dropped a screwdriver down the little hole and heard it slide way down... its there forever... installed the folddown support bar which is pretty cool! hooked up the universal sonar plug, threw the batteries in and wham it worked! boat is a good cleaning away from hitting the water! I'm looking at next monday or tues to get out for the first time!! thanks for the help!

Re: question for C and O marine... (capticeman)

Got out monday with the boat finally. Trolling motor was awsome. Universal sonar worked like a charm... Only problem I ran in to was when i installed the bounce buster and replaced the pin I forgot to run the rope over the top. fixed it on the water.
ETEC troubles... after being winterized last Nov and sitting all winter the motor was a little grumpy... It took .17 seconds to start up! Wow! plugs must be dirty...
FYI water was 39-40 degrees little Ice here and there... caught a dozen smallmouth, a few perch, 1 salmon and a big grin...

not sure if that is a brown trout or landlocked salmon. looks like a rainbow but they are not in the lake. had this problem before with a big brown. Fought like a trout though, A salmon tends to spin alot... caught it on a tube...
