I have a 275 Pro Xl with a Yamaha 115. My boat gets 51 GPS. My lockers hold my 7ft rods with no problem. Not sure about the dual consol though.
Welcome to the BBC!!!![]()
You should run mid 50's with the E-TEC if you have a jackplate and have it setup correctly.![]()
You will lose around 8" by getting the dual console on that boat. You will also have a little trouble bending the rods to get them around the console and into the locker. Your rods will also not lay flat on the deck with the second cosole. You will still be able to get 6 1/2' + rods in the locker, it will just put the tips of them in the nose of the boat where you will also have some wires to deal with.
The 275 is an awesome boat with a super wide deck and great storage. It gets tight pretty quick when you add that second console.
Hope that helps.![]()

We have an 06 275/115 ETEC doing about 54. Been propping it a time or two to get holeshot over topend.
Don't plan on more than a 6'6" rod without getting the rod tips past the carpet on the DC. The boat accepts the second console well tho since the boat is so wide.
thank you all for your helpif i went with single console can i fit my 7 1/2 foot rod in on passenger side ?

Is it one piece or collapsible? I always collapse my 7'6" flippin' stick even in my 20' boat. That may take Todd carrying one out there to try to get you an accurate answer. I think it may fit, but again you'll be putting that rod tip up in the nose of the boat.

I don't have a DC...but the box in front of the driver's console is the same. Time's tight...I'll try to get someone out there and do it.
I have a 275 with 115 Yami I GPS at 40 any reason why I am only getting this
This is my first boat.
Thanks for the help
It could be a number of things. The largest of which is the 115 Yammie. It is a good running motor, it just doesn't have the umph of the 115 Evinrude.
Also, do you have a jackplate? If not, that will get you around 2+ mph if you are already set up the best you could be (I don't think you are).
Another thing is your prop. I'm assuming it is a stainless prop. Some of the 115's come with alumimum props which will not get you the most out of your motor.
Lastly, what kind of a load are you carrying? If you have the 275 loaded down like a tournament angler would load a 201 Pro, then that can be holding you back also.

stainless prop
no jackplate
Is a jackplate worth it?
If you want to get the most out of your boat and motor it is.
Measure your prop shaft to pad height and see where you currently are at. If you're sitting too low in the water, you are losing performance. If you are too low now you will have to unhook the motor and raise it to another hole. That makes it the perfect time to put on a jackplate (6" on the 275). It puts the prop farther back in cleaner water and allows you to raise the motor higher to get better performance.

when I get up on plane I should rais the motor?
Thanks for your help
Sure, if you aren't trimming your motor out, that will definitely keep you slowed down.
But what I'm talking about is your motor may be mounted too low. When we talk about raising a motor it is meaning moving it up or down in relation to the transom. Typically, the higher you can run the motor, the better performance you get.
