    What is going on?

    1993 Javelin 409T
    1999 Johnson 225 HO
    27p Renegade

I can't seem to get the boat riding high enough on the water. I originally had a 200 venom and a 27p Shooter prop, but it left me in January, now I have a 225 HO. I put the Shooter prop on it put RPM's got to high. I was advised to go to a Renegade 27p. I later discovered my tach was wrong. But now with new tach and water pressure gauge I'm at 6000 rpm's, around 30 psi (water), and about 55-60 mph (speedo). There is still alot of boat in the water though.

My shaft was 3.5" below so I raised it to 3", and saw no difference. What do I do?

    Hole shot is excellent.

Lower.....don't raise. You already have wayyyyyyyy to much rpm for too little speed. That's slippage. Lower to 4" under.

    Thanks Todd !!!!

I have never had to play with a jackplate. I was thinking the wrong way. I'll lower it and let you know how I come out. Thanks a ton.

I would also suggest trying to find another prop to try...A 3-blade Raker or Tempest prop will carry that boat a lot better than that Renegade will...I run my 201 at 2 1/2" below with a Tempest @ 65-69 mph, depending on load......
