    Johnson 150 Fast Strike VRO

    Hi Guys,

I've got a 96 Johnson w/the original VRO. I had two dripping carbs this week that I took off and had rebuilt. I noticied that when I pumped the fuel primer bulb, I got a tiny bit of fuel leaking out of the top of the VRO. With the water hooked up, it didn't leak while running.

I've been told that a 12 year old VRO is akin to kissing your sister - and I need to get a new one right away. Anyone know where to get one for any less than the $300-350 on ebay or boat parts websites?

Thanks - Retired Air Force Guy.

Is it leaking out of the neck going into the separator or out of the separator itself? If it is leaking going into the VST then just replace the O rings with two new ones part number 335230.

There's a round, flat area on top of the VRO - it looks like fuel is coming out from around the round area. It looks like a plug of some type

There is a 90* elbow that goes into the VST (vapor separator tank) the fitting that goes into the tank should have 2 O rings on some of the older VRO's the 90 is glued to the pump if it is a brown fitting you will have to replace the VRO with the OMS part number 5007420 and use the correct fittings. Approx retail is $400.00.

    Hi Jeff,

I had the same problem on my 1995 130 Johnson gas leaking around that little round thing or plug, as no one seemed to know what I was talking about I changed it for a new OMS pump From( Ishopmarine )for around $290.00.

Good luck. I see prices are now $326.00 for this pump.
