    Tear in Seat

Does anyone know the best way to repair a torn seam in a boat seat? My drivers seat in my Javelin has a tear in the seam on the side where you slide in and out of the seat. I took it to a upholstery person and he told me that it would not hold if he were to restitch the seam. He wanted $200 to make a whole new seat cover.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks

    Re: Tear in Seat (MNJAVELIN)

I would say that $200 isn't too bad of a price. I think the only good option is to have it recovered. I just had both seat in my Jav redone for $150 per seat. I also had quotes as high as $250. Shop around, see what you can find.

if you want it to look good you'll need it re covered. I tried that patch crap that you buy at wally world and it looked like crap. Doesn't bother me, boat still runs and fishes.

I am thinking of trying to sew the seam back myself and then to hold it use some clear duct tape to keep it together.
