    aerator pumps

Guys getting the to do list together in preparation for spring. I have a bad pump in one of the livewells. Does anyone know where I can get a rule pro series replacement cartridge 500gpm. It seems they are all the bigger size cartridge now. Do they still make them. If not can I just replace them with the bigger 800s. My boat is a 2003 zx200.

Is it the old style? I think they have since come out with a new style...Yes you can change them out with a larger size if want to...i had 500's and swapped them out with some 700's....any way, i happen to have those 2 500's if you want to buy one or both...one is brand new in package and other is used...both still work and are sitting in my closet collecting dust...

    Re: aerator pumps (johnz)

Thanks guys. I figured I will just change them all out and upgrade especially aerators. One question I have is if I upgrade to 700 gpm does anything need to change as far as the wiring/fuses. Thought I read something about the switch panel being a problem with the bigger pumps. Thanks Mike

I think just the fuse's....when i changed mine out i just cut the wires, put new connectors and changed out the fuses to what the papers said...simple..just make sure you get the correct style as there are newer style pumps out...

    Re: aerator pumps (wamma)

I picked up locally some rule pro series 500GPM's from West Marine in Clearlake Tx. I found some on the internet as well. If you call around you'll find them. Rule still makes the replacement pump cartridges but not the housings.

As far as uping the pump size it should be okay as long as you don't have a DMS system on your boat. (FX or I-series)

Ranchdip by chance can you give me the model number. I found some at West Marine and bought them but they were the larger newer type 500 pumps. I think the number was 25r. Thanks

If you have the older pro series housings then the 25DR is the 500 gpm replacemt catridge. http://www.iboats.com/Pro-Seri...67697

If you go over the 500's make sure you change the fuse. As the 800's require a bigger one.

    Re: aerator pumps (wamma)

I went a head and changed mine out to larger pumps but went with a easier to find brand
Installed tsunami pumps from academy They are more available and to be honest the cartridge is easier to change
