I have a 03 tzx 190 with hydraulic steering and 2 of my friends both have a 07 zx 190 with hydraulic steering, they both have hard steering when they get on plane , wondering if anyone else has this problem. mine steers like a vehicle with power steering. They both have torque tabs and are positioned correctly. how do you check the fluid in the hydraulic steering although one says he had his serviced at a local dealer thats why i think it could be something else. What is the srew on top of the steering shaft behind the steering wheel for is this to add fluid? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is their jackplate heights still factory set???????

When I first got my '05 TZX 190 ...... the jackplate was still set at 'even'/ '2 halves were level' ....... at this setting, and my 175 HPDI spinning a 25" M series ....... low speed, negative trim was a 'itch to turn.

Jacked the motor up ...... problem solved for me. I'm now running a 4-blade and a lot more motor height and steering is a dream.

there jackplates were not even, both were raised around 2", one even lowered his to even like mine and still no difference

they probably have pro helm's and yours is not, the pro helm will be noticeably stiffer that the regular, this is normal

Nope not the pro helm, I guess it could be the cables but dont see them going bad in 4 years
