I have a 2000 ZX202C Dual Console. There is a cooler in the floor of my boat. Has anyone ever removed this cooler and if so, how? I'm installs a live-well cooling system and would like to use this cooler since I never use it. Thanks!!!

Never heard of someone removing the cooler? or installing a live well cooling system?
I had a 200 sx and tried to remove the in floor ice chest and it wouldn`t come out. I removed the metal around ther top and tried to squeeze it out and it wouldn`t come out of the hole. I was trying to add insulation to it. I finally was able to slide some foam sheets in around it but still didn`t hold ice very well
Thats kinda what i'm wondering about. That metal ring. Is it screwed in place under the carpet or riveted? I don't want to remove the carpet without knowing.
Mine was screwed in. I tried this when I was replacing the carpet in the boat. The plastic "box" of the cooler had 4 screws holding it to the sides., but the metal rim had six screws holding it to thew floor.
Thanks!! I will move forward on this project. I know it doesn't hold ice very well but it should do the job for my live-well cooling system. Just need to be able to get some fittings in there. Will try to post some pics.
If you are going to run hoses to it from aft you should be able to drop it down and slide it forward. Mine was a plastic tank which I would think yours would be also. It was a `93 with the ice chest in the step up to thwe front deck. Sounds like a good idea.
Hawgherder thank you.. were the four screws on the sides in the rod lockers? I see the six screws on the metal rim but nothing will budge and the screws only spin.. so I'll remove the carpet in the rod lockers and hopefully find the four screws. I want to attach a new drain plug to this and cannot figure out how to gain access.
play like its area 51 and leave well enuff alone![]()
Area 51 would make me play and investigate more.. I guess your right though.. I'll just cut a hole in the rod locker walls.
Add VT2 live well vents and you won't need a cooler, a lot less hassle for you![]()
I like the five year old thread revival.
