    Prop help?

I have a 2000 Zx 202c with a 200 Vmax OX66 and my max speed is about 63 and hole shot is poor, I am currently running a 26 tempest plus at 5700 to 5800 rpm. Is there a better prop or is this all I can expect to see out of this rig. Also jackplate has been at ever possible height and 63 is the best I can get.

Have you opened up the size of the 3 black plugs in the barrel of the prop? This will help the prop spin up better during the hole shot. Hole shot rpm's should probably be near 3500. You might try posting your question over on the set ups page.

Need to try a 25 pitch Yamaha or tempest. I used to have a 1997 ZX202c with a Pro V 200 and could do much better than that. The 25 tempest performed best and as already stated, if you haven't taken any of the plugs out , that will help get that prop spinning and should improve hole shot. Take them out one at a time until you get what you want. The 26 is too much for that rig or at least is was for mine. I did try one and had the same issue you are describing.

I have a 26 tempest plus on a 2002 SX 200, Course i have a Mercury200 on it, but the weight of our boats is the same, 26 tempests are notorious for being bad outa tha box. With this said, I sent mine to Croxton and got it blue printed, I run 70-72 loaded solo, and 68-70 loaded with 2 people, Get your prop checked out, That boat should run at the very least 67-70.
