    AGM battery failure

When AGM battery fails, does it just shut down? I'm out on Sturgeon Bay, and intermittently lose all power. Bought a new battery and will let you know. It seems as though when an AGM fails there's no warning. All connections are clean and tight.

Depends on exactly what failed... but in some cases, this would be the way it failed.

Preliminarily it seems as though it is a bad PM1 after two years. Not complaining. Put a new battery in and the graphs read 1 volt higher, loads do not move voltage as much. It seems though that vibration was the killer, being out in a chop is what was shutting the power off. I'll know tomorrow.

Ive had nothing but bad experiences with 6 of the PM1. Done and tried everything. Had 3 recently replace by Sears which was an experience in itself. Dont know what it is with those things but I am happy to see them go. All I know is I wont be getting any Odyssey made batteries again. Glad you figured it out.

It was the battery. Seemed to be more vibration related than load. Was really weird, would be running along and lose all power, than 1/100-1 second later be back at full power. Put a new battery on and am fine now. Trim or livewell pumps would not shut it down.

    Good catch!

Were you using this type of terminal?

Thanks! Glad you were able to get the problem taken care of (at least it was something relatively simple).

    Interesting

I had one of my PM1's fail on me this past Saturday. Battery would no longer take a charge and gave a reading of 10.5 volts. Sears determined the battery was bad. I took them two days to decide this. Since there are no more PM1's, they gave me a gift card. I paid $260 for the battery 2.5 years ago. The give card was for full price. $334. Used the batter for 2.5 years and made a little money to boot. I have been running PM1's for the past six years, and this is the first one to fail on me.
