Need some info/feedback..Thinking of buying a ZX190

I've been looking at 190ZX with all the bells and whistles. I'm going with the 150 Vmax,80lb Fortrex, and HB 998 dash and 798 bow.
I'm looking for some feedback on this model, how dose it ride,speeds etc....
This will be my 1st new boat and I narrowed my list to the Nitro Z7, Stratos Champion Elite 183 and this Skeeter...Thanks for the help guys.

My last boat was a 1996 Skeeter ZX190 with a Mercury 150. Had it for 8 years and was an awesome boat. Top speed was about 60mph and was a stable ride.

Might want to consider upgrading the motor to a 175 HPDI. It will give you a little better performance and fuel economy.

I have the SX 190 with 150 Vmax...i would agree with the others if you can afford the 175 HPDI. If not, there is nothing wrong with the motor it has. It does like to drink gas at WOT. I had mine going on 6 years and just a little bit of regular maintance. With the correct setup you could see the low 60's. These skeeter boats are great and fish well. Don't think you would be disappointed.

I have an 06 ZX-190/150 V-Max. I love it. My only regret is not upgrading to a 175hp

I've really been impressed with mine. That coming from someone that came out of a 19' boat w/200 to a 18.5' & 175. Since you can't get an 'Australian' ZX 190 ........ I'd definately get a 175. Either a HPDI or a Merc Pro XS.

Nothing wrong with the Hammer 150 VMax ..... it's a bulletproof motor, and your speeds will probably only be about 3-4mpg slower than the 175 ....... but like mentioned above the 175 will also be better on fuel (primarily due to DFI vs carb'ed).

The only changes I've made since these pictures is ....
- 4 blade 24" TR04 w/ Croxton Cav. Ring to replace the 25M Pro Series
- Minn Kota 80lb Fortrex to replace the 74lb Maxxum







Does anybody have an 'Australian' inspection plate they want to sell me???? DOn't need the boat, just the sticker.

Don't get me wrong. The 150 carbed is an awsome motor. It indeed is bullet proof. I can run 60mph and that is fine. The HPDI will give you better fuel economy for sure. At the time I purchased the boat , I didn't have the extra money to buy the 175. It was $4,000 extra.

Definately get it w/ a 175!! You'll have all the speed you'll want (66.8 mph w/ mine at the moment until I can control the last bit of chine walk) and have the biggest deck in any 18 1/2ft boat! Stick a 109 Motorguide on there and you'll be able to fish on the windest days w/ ease. Its a pretty dry ride unless its really bad out. My only complaint is that there is way too much storage in that I can have all my gear in there and still have PLENTY of storage.
