    Prop recommendation...

For you ZX225 owners, what prop would you recommend. I currently run a 27-T1 Yamaha VMAX prop but am getting a replacement to go along with a new LU due to insurance. I was wondering if you guys could think of a better prop for my boat. Was thinking of something lower in pitch as it seems most run a 25-26 pitch prop. Have a ox66 225hp motor. Suggestions?

I run a 02 ZX225 with hpdi LU on 225ox66 and 25TXP. Good for 72gps loaded by myself and 70 with 2, good hole shot. 26TXP is great in winter have seen 74 a couple of times, 71 with 2 but slower hole shot. 27m was a best prop performance wise but broke too many of them. Get a hpdi LU if you can.

If you run pretty heavy on gear, bolt on a 25 T-1. It is the best I have tried on my floating tackle store.

I'll be selling a Croxtonized B&B 26P TXP soon... i've no idea on price but with my phase 3 now it's not enough anymore... it's in perfect condition.

I ran it last year on my ZX225 and it ran well.

This is the one I told them to order. If switching from a 27 to a 25, do you think I'll have to make any changes to my jackplate setting?

    Well right now i have a B&B 26p TXP and a B&B 27p T1.

I took a recommendation from someone who has run my new boat/motor setup and they suggested a 30p TXP... it sounds like a lot BUT remember it's a phase 3 now. That is on it's way but i won't get to run it until spring now. It's possible that 'may' be a little too much but someone else on here has already offered to trade it for a 29 TXP.

So that'll leave me with 3 props so the 26p will likely get sold and i may even trade my 27p for a 28p but i'll wait till spring before doing that as i need to run them and figure out for myself what works. Switching props without real numbers to go on isn't a great idea.

It's going to be a loooong winter up here

It's worse than crack this bass boat thing

I actually got the 30 in the mail today but my rig is away for the winter now so i'll have to wait till spring to try it.

    Re: Prop recommendation... (bottledgt)

The m series is thinner/lighter and better suited to 150/175 motors... once you get into the 200-250's the T series are stronger. Like myself others also run the TXP props as they're also a thicker more sturdy prop for the larger engines.
