Wondering where would be the best place to put a 3 bank bps charge on my 1996 ZX180.
my 96 zx 180 has the charger on the drivers side right behind the livewell in the gas tank & batt. area.the guy i got the boat from built a wood base to get it of the floor.seems to work for me.i put a plug on the outside of the boat so i have never have to open the lid to charge batt.
is there no room in the fuel battery compartment? if there is, put it anywhere that the cables reach the batteries, and just make sure when you screw it down not to go through the hull.....I've seen it happen!!
on my boat there is a flat spot between the sponsons and i just used industrial type velcro..no holes and its held on for over 2 years now
there is some room was just wondering du to the fact it would be so close to the gas tanks and the oil reserve. Think I will build the base like stated above thanks to all for the help.
I just put one on mine, I have a 96 zx180, I had to move my trolling batteries toward the port side of the bilge, and the starting battery to the starboard side. That left a lot of room between the batteries and the fuel tank. I have a carpeted panel that covers the access to the livewells. I mounted it to that near the top of the deck. Works like a charm and one could say it looks factory mounted.
