    HT on my 2001 ZX225

Well I am not finished with it yet but I did throw on some hydro tech parts and I have say, it really woke her up.

As of right now I have the phase II, lightweight flywheel, and a profiled hpdi lower unit with 1.75 gears. Here are my numbers so far...

    Croxton 25T1-5/8" below pad-76.8@6000
    Croxton 27T1-3/8" below pad-78.2@5900

It turns the 25 really well. I mean excellent holeshot, craxy mid,and only about 6.5% slip on topend. Thing is a monster with this prop.

Now the 27 is pretty good but It is just a little too much for it. It does pretty well through out but the top speed just isn't there yet. Was really hoping for 80 but not quite there yet.

I will be ordering the Phase III extras this week and let you know how it goes.

Thing runs like a top, no issues at all. This is with my normal fishing load and around 1/2 tank gas.

Re: HT on my 2001 ZX225 (Bass Junkie)

With the same load average was about 71. Top speed was about 72.5. That was with the 25. It didn't like the 27 very much stock. I haven't got any good light load numbers afterwards yet. It has been pretty windy lately so it has been kinda rough for those speeds.

Now with the 25, it will always run over 76 and the 27 will normally run at least 77.5.

How much money you spent for 5 MPH?

I bet could buy a boat load of tackle.

    I just don't understand.

Re: HT on my 2001 ZX225 (MCIPinkie)

The phase kit was around 1500. Which I don't think is to bad. All the other stuff wasn't exactly for 5 mph. My old lower unit had a bent prop shaft, instead of spending money on it, I went with the 3.3L L/U. The boat drives totally different and I never have to worry about water pressure issues when raising my engine higher. As far as not understanding.... Some people like to tinker with stuff to make it go faster, I am one of them. I have plenty of tackle to cover my fishing needs and if I wanted to buy a boat load of tackle, I will. I am young and like the speed and power. If I really wanted to go fast, I will buy a stroker, but I really like my skeeter so I will continue to make it faster. I have also Picked up around 6mph. It really doesn't change it much when loaded

Also, Phase III stuff shoud be here next week. Hoping for at least 81 or maybe 82. Gonna be cold!!

Keep posting the numbers interested to see how the Phase III runs on the ZX225. Once my engine warranty is up I will be looking at these HT options.

How is your fuel consumption gal/hr affected by the mods? Have you taken any data on that?

I am not sure on consumption. i have mainly been testing, so it probably hasn't been good. I will defently post numbers for the phase III. I just relly hope it does what I want.

Hey Kyle - glad to hear good results so far! Let us know when you get the rest of the stuff put on. I think 80 is in the near future for sure! Also, if you don't mind posting on the Yamaha Hi Perf board under "Performance Gains", just so other folks can see what kind of gains they could expect with a similar rig.
    Thanks bud,

Do you know anyone that does the reprograming on the ECUs. I have a 2000 model 200 hp OX66 and would like to have the ECU reprogramed for 225.

There is not anything available for the OX66 ECU. About all you can do is disable the rev-limiter. No reprogramming though.

Phase III stuff is on and ready to go. I am not sure when I will be able to get it out to do some testing, it has been so cold and windy here. Hope it is soon!!! Can't hardly wait!!!
