2010 Ranger Z521 Crack Near Transom

I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with cracking near the transom. I noticed that I had some small crack around the rub rail so decided to remove the rub rail and noticed a much larger split of the top coat approximately 1/4" wide. Any help would be appreciated on ideas for repairs or if this should be a concern. The transom seems to be pretty sturdy and I have not yet taken the splash well cover off yet to see what it looks like underneath. Attached are pics.

Contact your nearest Ranger dealer before putting it back in the water.

That can't be good. I'd have it checked out.

Don't do anything to it. Have your dealer look at it asap.

That's ugly...get it checked out...on the plus side, looks like it's in the cap and probably not the transom, but get it checked anyway.

Whatever is happening, it's not good! As other guys have said, get it checked out, and it would also be a good idea to send your photos directly to the Ranger warranty department to see what they have to say.

The last one is showing the crack above the rub rail but the 1/4" crack width is under the flimsy plastic transom covering?

We did not take the splash well guard off so unsure what it looks like under it. Plan is to take it in Tomorrow and get it looked at will repost with what I find out. Thanks for the responses. The transom seems sturdy so hoping it's just the top cap.

Well got it into the shop yesterday. No structural issues but they stated if I kept running the boat it would cause more damage so they provided an estimate to repair.........drum roll.......$1,500......yep.....said this is mainly due to the white gel coat, charcoal metal flake and red metal flake pin stripe if you look at the picture you will be able to see the combo. Also, they stated they would have to cut out approximately a foot to really blend it in and repair it. Should take about a week and a half after they get it into the shop should be able to follow up in about 2 1/2 weeks with pictures and a repaired boat.

Well, good news is that it is NOT structural..that is good. Bummer on the 1500 repair though..that does suck

Am I missing something here, I thought Ranger stands behind their hulls. Since it was deemed not structural it isn't warranted?? Kinda has me second guessing the premium price I just paid for a slightly used 2012.

No where does it say he contacted Ranger......just the dealer. I would send the pics to RANGER and see if they might not help with the repair.
