    20i /250hpdi setup

thought i would share what i found last friday,,,

    boat info,, 07 20i/ 250hpdi(non series2)

installed a power tec 25---- 15 1/8,, (had little cup put in blades)

    motor 1 7/8 in below
    3/4 fuel, 4 batteries, 1 person(220lbs),LOTS of fishing stuff!!!
live wells half full, no fish(sigh...)
    air temp---97
    wat temp---91
    little or no wind

    gps at 4000rpm 45.9 (water preasure--10-12lbs)
    gps at WOT(5600) 74.3 (water preasure--12-16lb
hole shot seems to be close to before
did have alot more bow lift, which in my opinion is needed with this heavy boat
boat handled well, stayed on plane better, and at lower speed
took alot less trim to get top end, which again, IMO, the closer you are to netural trim, the better the boat rides and performs. GOOD THING!
prop looks like a 25T withthe exception of the blades being beefier, i did have to add a washer to get the safety key to fit (to my liking)
i am going to run this settup a while or at least till i make a river run with
another person and more gear. i know i have room as far as rpm goes, because i have seen 6000 in the fall or winter( i have pretty much outgrown running WOT). another thought, not really a concern is the water preasure, like all hpdi's running here in the south, in the HEAT, its not as much as i would like to see.
    comment if you wanta

your water pressure seems a little low for me i have the same set up only a 21 I and the only time i ever see below 20psi with the yamahas(im on my second 250 hpdi) is when the motor has some junk clogging them a little sand or mud got sucked up some where. i think the speeds your showing are about normal for that boat 74 at 5600 is actually pretty good my 21 I runs 74-75 depending on the day but thats at 5900 with a mark b&b 25 t-1 before that it ran 73 but that is with 2 people tournment ready if im by myself im at around 76 but my water pressure is always around 25 and my plate is pretty high

As the water temp rises, the water pressure drops. Water up in IL probably doesnt get near as warm as MS. In the winter my gauge is pegged at 30 PSI, Low 80s water I see about 18 PSI. Upper 80s its about 15 PSI.
