    ZX190 Skeeter.

I'm looking at 2008 ZX190 the motor isn't rigged yet. Any pro's or con's. How much difference will there be between a 150 HPDI or 175 HPDI. Thanks.

The 150 will give you in the low 60's. The 175 will do mid to hi 60's depending on set-up Welcome to BBC

Should only be $600-$800 difference between both HPDI's. Easiest and Cheapest way to gain 5mph IMO, plus it might be easier to unload with the boat HP maxed out.

Go ahead and hang the 175 on it. That way you will not have to wonder "what if" and you will be happier with its performance.

175 all the way Mike! While you are at it you might as well jump up to the ZX200 or 225, you're going to want it if you start doing pro-ams on the big lakes.

I have the 150 and it has plenty of power with a 23 pitch prop. I would get the 175 tho just to have that little extra.

I think it's gonna be more than that between a 150 and a 175 no? Are they the same block or something?
If you're right, then I'd go with the 175 as well

Back in 07' when I purchased my ZX190 $600 was the price difference from my dealer. A no brainer at the time.

i just bought my '07 zx190 (new) in may this year, i asked about the swao between the motors and was quaoted about $2,250 difference. the 150 is the vmax, while the 175 was the HDMI. 4 or 5 mph difference is not worth that amount of money.

It shows $600 difference on the yamaha site for difference between 150 VMax HPDI vs 175 VMax HPDI

He is looking in Canada right now so everyone up here knows about prices, when it gets to the border mark it up and then mark it up a couple of more times.

I missed that, didn't know he was a fellow Canuck.

.....things aren't marked up in Canada for no reason....at least that's what I'd like to believe

What if he traveled to the states? I know Reynolds Marine in CT would give him a smokin deal that would be well worth the travel. How would that work anyways?

    Re: ZX190 Skeeter. (Phippy)

He wants to see what kind of price in Canada first, for warrenty reasons, but the US is not out of the question. It seems if we buy in the states the warrenties on everything other than the hull are only covered in the US. Dealers in Canada do not have to honour the warrenty as it was not bought in Canada.
I was told this when I was looking for a new boat myself, from dealers in the US and Canada. Sometimes it sucks being north of the border, sometimes

    Re: ZX190 Skeeter. (carmikes)

I would think that if a boat is already rigged with a 150 , it will cost you more than $600.00 for them to re-rig it with a 175. When I bought my 06 ZX-190 it had a 150 carb on it. They quoted me $3500.00 for re-rigging with a 150 hpdi and $4300.00 for a 175 hpdi

heres mine with 150..had it up to 64 yesterday into a little breeze, only 1/4 tank of gas and small(ish) fishing partner. granted we all want the biggest baddest rig on the planet and i was skeptical about the 150....but i am very pleased with it so far. have about 5 hours on the engine and only ran WOT for about 2 minutes
