    This is gonna hurt!!

"This is gonna hurt" were the exact words that went through my head earlier this week... closely followed by a few other uhmm "choice words"

Monday after work i was doing some work on the skeeter but when I got out of it I slipped and took a nose dive off the side.

Thankfully i fell onto grass but i fell funny and heard my right knee go pop. I've had it checked at the ER and 3 x-rays later they say there's no breaks or cracks. It's been almost a week now and it's finally starting to get better but i'm just hoping i've not torn anything... time will tell.

A little less speed sometimes avoids accidents. Just be careful out there guys.. I've been in and out of boats for years and never fallen but it shows how quickly things can happen.

I was just glad i didn't break anything and it happened at home not 100 miles away at a boat ramp

Re: This is gonna hurt!! (SkeeterJohn)

John I almost did the same thing. I wiped down the boat and gave it a once over with BTS. Jumped inside to clean up some of the mess and went to jump out with my hands full steped on the side and just about ended up on my back side. The good news is I caught myself, the bad news is I had to pick up a bunch of tackle and two broken Plano boxes. I wish I could have got that on tape, I might have a chance at Americas funniest videos.

    Hope your doing well soon.

I was pressure washing my carpet. I was in bare feet.

I stepped down from the back deck onto the driver's seat and slipped on the wet seat. I fell backwards over the side and hooked my right leg under the steering wheel.

I must have been a sight hanging upside down off the side by just my leg.

The back of my calf turned so many shades of blue, green and other bruise colors it was amazing. It took weeks to go away. I guess it was still better than the fall on to the blacktop.

    Man,
Well at least I know I am not he only guy who may have looked like an absolute idiot. good things my neighbors weren't watching or I would have had to jump up immediatly and act like nothing was wrong, dust myself off and play it cool.

I was vacuming out my rig, and didn't want to get the floor dirty so I took off my flip flops. Any way once I was done, I realized I hadn't left my flip flops on the fender, but I left them on the garage floor.
I was " gently" letting myself down, with my left foot straight as an arrow in trying to just land in a "tip toe' fashion as to keep the rest of my foot clean. All of a sudden, my hands slipped on the fiberglass, and I landed with all my weight on my foot, which then buckeled over, and I ended up slamming up againist my garage wall. I looked like a complete jack ***! Good thing my brothers weren't there or they would have let me known for sure how stupid I looked.
My ankle is still jacked up.. If I swim I can feel something popping in there when I kick.

I'm glad I'm not the only clutz. Last spring I went to slide off of the front of the boat and my foot caught the bracket for depth finder and I nose dived into the gravel in my driveway. It was not pretty but luckily I was not seriously injured. Believe me I'm extremely cautious now when getting in and out of something now.

Was watching AFV last night with my wife, I know stupid show...

But they showed a dock with about ten tournament boats tied up to it. A guy was stepping out the front of the boat over the trolling motor and slipped and fell ass over tea kettle into the water. His bag of fish hit the dock and two of them got back into the water.

Talk about hurting. Your body, your pride and a good portion of your bag...

Re: This is gonna hurt!! (itsakeeper14)

Was fishing in my buddies boat 2 years ago. Fishing from the back deck. Tried to step over his seat down to the floor to retie or something. Didn't want to step on his seats. Somehow my inside of my foot just caught the front of the seats. My foot/ankle rolled, came down with all my weight on it....snap,crackle,pop! Broke my ankle. Crutches, air cast, Drs., medical bills and out of work for a few weeks. Now I don't care who's boat i'm in.........step smack down in the center of their seat if there's no step.

I think a beer may have helped me stay on my feet or at least gave me something to try to hold when i fell

I'll have to be extra careful when i pressure wash in a week or two otherwise i can see this happening all over again

    Wax On - Wax Off.

A few years ago, I bought a ZX210c and was so proud of that thing that I waxed it like 3 times before we hit the lake. First time out was a tournament with my Dad. I hooked first keeper within 10 minutes and Dad netted the 3 pounder and stood in between the consoles blocking my path the the live-well switches while he fumbled with the treble hooks caught in the net. Impatient me decided to go around him and as I stepped on the hull edge outside the console I suddenly realized the new boat rails weren't flat like my old boat.

Well, let's just say it takes a 220 pound man about 1.2 seconds to become completely drenched to the bone through coveralls and everything! Because that's how long I was underwater. I'm 6' 2" and I sat down in 3' of water.

The good news is - I won the tourney. The bad news is - I did it in Dad's coveralls and nothing else.

Water temp = 56 degrees. BRRRRRRR
