Standing water in floor on ZX200

Hello all, new to the forum here.

Bought a 2008 ZX200 and got it soaked on the 200 mile drive home in the rain ..

Anyone had a problem with standing water in the floor by the seats? Two days after I got it home the carpet was still soaked and had to wet vac it out.

Thought about drilling small drain holes but don't really like the idea. Suggestions?

    Thanks!

I bought a small fan and whenever I come home and the boat is wet, I turn the fan on for a few days and it dries it out. If there was standing water, I'd wetvac it out or use a couple towels to soak up as much as I could. Always worked well for me.

This is a picture from the drain hole looking forward in my 07 zx200. I would not drill holes, I use a wet vac and then let it air dry.

Drilling holes would be a very bad choice. All of the wood is enclosed in fiberglass, drilling holes would leave areas with raw wood which will casuse rot.....use the vac and towels and get a cover.

Thanks. I really didn't like the idea of drilling holes either... the wet vac worked along with a fan. Appreciate the responses.

I think most boats have the same issue...

The drain will only work if there's enough water to go down it...the saturated carpet will have to dry out by itself or with a little help from a shop vac or some towels.

Water always collects there for me as well. It is the 1-2"'s behind the floor drain right next to the fiberglass base where the seats are set on.
Same thing here, I soak as much as I can with my shammy (sp) and then take the rest up with a shop vac, then let it sit in the sun for the afternoon to dry up.
I agree not to drill some holes, I would be afraid of making the floor weak by drilling too many, and just the cosmetic look of them would drive me nutts.

Re: Standing water in floor on ZX200 (SKEETER BOY)

We dont want to go here again,,but I can show you pics of wood in the deck where there was a recesed foot petal installed and wood supports under the driver and passenger seats and also the backs of the rod lockers and all that is in a 2006 ZX200 there is wood all in the skeeters it is just glassed over so you cant see it. Not saying it is a bad thing because once it is glassed over it should not get wet but the wood under the seats and basck of rod lockers on a buddys boat that I mentioned is just wood with carpet over it.
