    Fury prop on Skeeter

Anybody tried a Fury prop on a skeeter? Wondering about speed, handling, and overall performance.

We tried it on my boat, but not all of them yet. Here is the thread. http://www.bbcboards.net/zerothread/302109

Thanks Jason. I was just wondering how one would do on a zx225 with a efi Phase II.

Re: Fury prop on Skeeter (shortcast)

We're seeing 3mph on the 20i. I've heard similar numbers on the 225. Stay with the 25p. They only make them to 26p so I don't know how they'd do with a phaseII motor. Jason's 4 stroke is probably a whole different animal.

I personally had a B&B'd Yamaha 25 by Mark and the Fury was still a couple of mph's faster.

Re: Fury prop on Skeeter (phillic)

Oops, we might have let the cat out of the bag! Sorry, we've been away this weekend fishing the nasty Ohio River.

Here are our numbers so far. My partner's 20i (its actually NOT running right right now) is currently getting 74mph at about 5800+ rpm. He was getting 71mph right before the Fury switch. He did better before the engine rpm issues, but these are the same condition changes.

On my 20i, I have only had a chance to try the 26p Fury so far. With the Fury, my boat got 76.23mph at 5700. Before, I was getting 73.5mph on my blueprinted 25T at 5900 rpm. I have a 25 p Fury on order and guessing that that is the right prop for me as I run heavy most of the time. I'm predicting that the 25p Fury at 5900-6000 rpm will be equal to the 26p Fury at 5700rpm, but carry a heavy load better.

Neither one of us played with our engine height yet (maybe I should have with the 26 Fury) but my jackplate is set currently with the split between the plates at 2 7/8". My patrner left his at were it was from the factory.

I have been hearing most people with ZX225's have been happy so far, some had been doing better with the 26p but not getting the rpms near 6000. I can try to track down the guys that have tried the Fury on the ZX's and post their numbers if anyone is interested.

Both our numbers above are summer numbers, I do about 2mph better in the Spring. I think the Fury is running the same rpm's pitch for pitch as the Yamaha at the same engine height. Also, for what its worth, my Croxton B&B'd Yamaha 25T did not get any faster than my 25T did stock. I may have gotten a little better hole shot, less porpoising, and better load carrying with the blueprinted prop, but no speed increases; so maybe my B&B'd prop was not where it should have been. Is anyone out there with a B&B'd 25T doing better than 73mph FULLY loaded (full gas, 2 guys, all compartments full of tackle) AND in the Summer on a 20i though? If so, the B&B'd 25T may be a good option also.

We are running a B&B 25T1 from Mark and are running 74-75 loaded right now. I can't wait until it gets cool to see what it will do. We have raised the engine since we got this back and it keeps getting better.

Re: Fury prop on Skeeter (Jason Hale)

I bought a 26 txp for my zx200. Seems to be to much prop. Am going to buy another 25p prop. Will a fury hinder my holeshot? Would like a couple more mph if I don't lose holeshot or lift. Running my 25 t1 now.

Jason thats on the 20I right?? can you give me the " spilt on the j/p mine is 2 1/8" split right now and would like to be closer to were it should be to start, also I take it that you guys have the wagde on the j/p

I tried to get a prop to pad but man you have to trim that motor up a ton to get it and I had to stop because something came up now its on the trans saver because I fished yesterday

Re: Fury prop on Skeeter (macinckirk)

JJ What was the RPM's on the T1 before having it bluprinted? I have a 2007 20I and 250HPDI I could only turn my stock 25T1 5700 RPM and after having it worked on by DAH turned it the same. Best speed so far 74MPH fully loaded but with warm temps lately 72MPH is about the best. Motor is set at 2 1/2 from split. I would love to see what a Fury 25 will do on this boat.

Re: Fury prop on Skeeter (JTD)

I was not having any problems getting 5900 rpms from the stock T1 in the summer. The blueprinted prop actually came back turning less rpms and I had to raise the motor about 1/2 an inch from where it was to turn the same rpms. I did get a speed and rpm increase but, in the end, it was not any better than what I was getting stock. Mark Croxton recommended raising another 1/2" but I never got around to trying that (it seemed like the motor would be getting excessively high at this point anyway).

Re: Fury prop on Skeeter (JJohnSind)

How is the fury prop working out? I just lost a blade on my Yamaha Prop and am looking at getting a new one. I was thinking of maybe of going with the fury.

It is pretty bad when I am fishing a tourney and my coangler goes "What is the problem with Yahama's loosing blades." In his last tourney his partner lost a blade on his Yamaha.

Re: Fury prop on Skeeter (ewallstate)

I FINALLY just got my 25 Fury. Been busy, but I'll try and get it out and get final numbers. My partner has had the 25 Fury on his 20i all summer and is getting 1 1/2 to 2 mph over his 25 T1 (when his motor was running right). On the last tournament, we were going 75+ in the morning with 2 guys, full load, full gas (his boat has actually not even been running right all year - that's why he tried the prop change, who knows what a strong motor will do with this prop). My boat went over 76 (in the Summer) with the Fury 26, but only turned about 5700 rpms.

Sounds like you can tweek the Yamaha prop to do fine too, my prop was damaged and needed repair so I decided to go with the Fury. It was on backorder for a long time though. The differences may not be worth it to some.
