    ZX200 owners....have a few questions

OK, the family and I were up at Lakeside two weeks ago and there were Skeeters everywhere and most were ZX200's. I'll admit I was never much of a Skeeter fan till I got to see them up close and WOW a really nice boat. Looked nice and wide, seemed stable on the water and it looked like they performed well with the HPDI 200 out back. So my questionsi are:

How are they in the rough stuff?

How are the consoles for protection, wind, rain?

How if the fishability....I have a 3 year old and don't want something that is tipsy.

Also any years that I should stay away from? Problems with gel coat, transoms, trailer...whatever you can think of.

When we were out in the garage tonight this is the third time she brought up the Skeeters and how nice they were so...I'll see what buttons I can push for a new rig? So let me have some great selling points!!

And just for me...how fast can they run??!!

one of the best boats out there for rough water, very stable
fishabilty is great due to the large decks they offer
as far as any major problems with gel coats , transoms etc, NOT anymore than any OTHER boat manufactar has with theirs

    Re: ZX200 owners....have a few questions (SKEETERBUG1)

I think it might be one of the best boats for the money out there. Should be able to do 70 when set up right and a light load. Definately would be a great buy.

Joe I have the ZX225. This is my first skeeter but not my last. The 225's are 8" longer and 2" deeper and have 225 hp motor on them, with right set up the 200's will run just as fast.

My grandchildren fish with me through the summer and I have no fear of the stability. Grandchildren ages range for 1.5 - 4 year old.

Yes skeeters handle rough water well, plus skeeter advertises they will keep you dryer that other boats

Read though the previous post on this forum back several weeks and I believe most of you skeeter questions will be answered.

Skeeter has 3 main models ZX has all the bells and whistles, SX still a great boat but fewer whistles, and the SL they are fish and ski.

Looking forward of welcoming you to the skeeter family

    Joe,

The ZX200 is if not my favorite, one of my favorite boats that Skeeter builds. I do run the ZX225 and as mentioned it is a little bigger, but the 200 has everything you need. I ran one for 6 months last year as I sold my boat early. I will say I was truely impressed. I spent a week on vacation with the 200, and with my wife and 4 1/2 year old, I never felt uneasy with them in the boat. My daughter fished with me everyday and we had plenty of room. The boat will run in the 70MPH range and will take anything you throw at it. Go for, you won't be disappointed.

Feel free to call me with any questions.

Agree... EZ Loader not a quality trailer long range but the rest is A+...mine runs near 225 speed... the 80 MK is just the ticket up front too.
...5 of the 7 new rigs in my area clubs have been Skeeters...bug-a-rama...mostly 225ZXs.

Think the ZX200 has everything the ZX225 and ZX250 have with the exception of the tackle organizer in one of the front boxes. Skeeter has an excellent ride too.

    Re: ZX200 owners....have a few questions (JoePA)

Ditto to what everyone has said. I went from a TR20 (Triton) and I have not looked back. I was VERY impressed at the performance of the 200 HPDI after being skeptical from going from a 225 HO on my TRITON. Gets very good MPG also.

JASON HALE if you see this: I'm still wanting to get with on the set up(porpoise) on my ZX200 sometime in the NEAR future, the wife made plans for me on my vacation a few weeks back and I didn't get to get away. How can I get in touch with you e-mail wise?

    Re: ZX200 owners....have a few questions (Gman24)

My ZX200 (06) runs great (71.1gps cool water-light load) 2 inches below pad with a 25T1 at 5,900rpms...if that helps before you get to see Jason. The 225 Tritons take 3 miles to ease by me if you like that sort of thing. I do.

Good engine bolted to less than desirable piece of fiberglass.

Scotty, why not elabarate a little. Your statement doesn't have much merit unless you back it up. Not venting, just curious.

Gman, I understand you wanting validation of my comments but I am not going to start a battle here. Go to photobucket and type in skeeter stringer and see for yourself.
Yamaha makes good engines,Skeeter is a good fishing platform thats all I'll say.

    Re: ZX200 owners....have a few questions (JoePA)

Love mine to death. I can get 72mph GPS with mine by myself and tournament loaded. With full livewells and a partner I cruise in the 65ish range. Handles rough water great. I spent 9 days on Amistad and it handled the 4-6 foot swells with ease. Not too many boats can take an Oklahoma wind beating, but mine does it everytime out. My only complaint is that I am a tall and with the sleek console design and the high padded seats puts me exposed from the chest up. Too tall to duck down. =] Get you a Fishheadz mask and give'er hell. Oh, and the Vmax HPDi is the finest motor I have ever owned. Not one tiny little issue and I am on my second full tournament season with it. Also, it has a great resale value in my area. Better than a Ranger. Go figure.

He has a 2007 leftover 225 forsale with a similar color combo...maybe I can swing something if it's sweet enough??

    ZX200 owners....gauge question

My 2006 has an empty circle for a 4 inch gauge (I guess) in the top middle cutout...its just covered with a silver thing now...does anyone know of a Fuel Flow meter that might fit? If not, what other useful gauges might fit? Thanks..
