    ZX250's w/300 pad measurement

Those with this combo, what is your pad measurements. I'm currently at 2" below pad. My old 27t1 was repaired once and it's sad they shaved the dings as an easy fix. That prop is smaller in diameter and blade size, so I can bounce that one off the limiter on max trim. But I have since gotten two new 27t1's and both can only turn 5500 r's at max trim. Trim can't go any higher. I still have good psi. I want to get these two new prop to gain another 650 r's. I'm thinking about raising my motor some more. I trying to optimize what I have first before sending it in to Mark for B&B. Or should I do that first then work with it afterwards?

1 and 3/4" below pad is what I know we have set them at. I don't think that is going to make much of a difference. I would try a Mercury 26 Fury. I know if works well on a 20i with a 250.

What are you getting out of the merc fury prop ? I have a 2006 20i and have worked my Yammie 25t1 prop twice with no change in speed so I give up on that. I'm looking at a tempest but not sure if the 26 or 27 would be the way o go.

How loaded are you running? I am 2-1/4" below pad and spin the 27T-1's to 6k easily. Had prop worked by Mark and picked up 2mph when running heavy compared to before prop was worked. Sent another New 27T-1 to get BB and repitched to 28". I was spinning 6k rpm loaded or not at 75mph. I was told alot of guys are running at 0 or dead even with pad on 250 Skeeters. I will be running the new 28T-1 this weekend and will post results as soon as I find the sweet spot!
Is your engine running ok? Think it might need service or something?

    Re: ZX250's w/300 pad measurement (BMF ZX-250)

Engine is running fine and new powerhead actually has less than 10 hrs on it. Engine to pad height is around 2" and engine height is maxed out on jack plate unless I change the engine bolt holes on the jack plate. Prop appears to be the problem but don't want to buy a new one until I see some data from others.

I have a 20I with 250 Yamaha I'm expermenting with myprops. I ran 72 to 73 before yamaha prop was damaged. I put my Tempest 25 on it and it is not in the best shape and boat ran the same. I just sent the Yamaha Prop to DAH for repair and customization will keep you posted on results.

    Re: ZX250's w/300 pad measurement (BMF ZX-250)

I'm loaded for tourny, 2 peeps, 3/4 - full tank and tackle and the usual stuff in the boat like batteries and stuff. These are new props, I know I'm atleast 650+ r's below the limiter. I want to be about 150 r's under the limiter. I think my engine is fine, atleast it idles fine and runs fine, no hickups at all. If there is a problem with my motoor, I can't tell, nor know where to start. If you turning that 27t1 to 6k, I shouldn't have any problem doing the same. I don't have a problem bouncing my older, worn 27t1 off the limiter, just these new 27t1's. Maybe I just need another heavy dose of seafoam to clear her up and some new plugs. My plugs are 1.5yrs old but does not appear gunked up or fowled, just dark with residue.
