    Water Pressure Gauge ZX225

I have a 04 ZX225. Had my boat in for service over the winter and just got it out for the first time this week. My water pressure gauge seems to be dead. The needle is pinned at the bottom and It does not move at all. Does this sound like the gauge went bad or did something not get hooked back up?

I'm hoping to solve this myself being that the closest Skeeter dealer is almost 2hrs away.

    Thanks

I would check in two places. Under the cowling on the starboard side of the motor to the top is a brass fitting that has a tube connected to it. That is where tube connects at the motor. The other end is at the gauge of course. If you are running and water comes out at your feet, then you know it is the one up front.

Sounds like you had some water in the hose and it froze over the winter. It will break the spring in the guage with the pressure when it freezes. We see it all the time especially with the guys that use their boat all winter. We have a few that unhook their water pressure guage in the freezing weather to keep this from happening.

Is it a Faria gauge? If so, they have a lifetime warranty. I sent mine to them a couple weeks ago because it stopped working. Got it back the other day and no charge.
Go to http://www.faria-instruments.com/forms/?form=new and fill out your info, they will issue you a RO number and will give you a return label to print out.

Re: Water Pressure Gauge ZX225 (Charger)

    Thanks again for the reply's.

I checked where it connects at the motor and at the gauge and everything looks fine. I think it must be from it freezing over the winter. I'm not sure of the brand. It's the original that came installed in the boat. I'll have to pull it out to see who makes it. It sure would be nice If they will replace it under warrenty.

Re: Water Pressure Gauge ZX225 (ZX225)

I pulled the gauge out of the boat to find out who makes it. Turns out it's a teleflex gauge with the number's 65634SEF on it. I called them and It's not under warranty anymore. I've been trying to find one online, but I can't seem to find the same one. Mine has the silver bezel and all the ones I can find are just black bezels. Does anyone know where I can order one of these?

    Thanks

Re: Water Pressure Gauge ZX225 (ZXD)

    Thanks for the reply.

I don't think the gauge you ordered is the same one i'm looking for. I just called them and gave them your order # and they said the gauge looked to be white in the middle. Mine is black.

My boat dealer can get me one through skeeter, but there back ordered right now and no one really knows how long it's going to take to get them in. I really need this within a 2 1/2 weeks.

    Thanks for your help.

Thats not true, mine is silver in the middle and its called telefles signature series and its chrome around the edge ,the part no is 63481p, but if your face is black, its a different one anyway.

Re: Water Pressure Gauge ZX225 (Gamble.Bass)

Thanks for trying to help guys.

This is what I ended up ordering. It's a very close match to the gauge that broke.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...sting

My local dealer was going to have to go through skeeter and skeeter told them that the gauges were back ordered and it would take probably more then a month to get in. Another place wanted $109.99 for the same gauge that I have and It would take 3 weeks to get. So I settled for the one I bought off of ebay.

One last question: Do I need to do anything to the water line before I hook this new gauge up?

Thanks again for all your help
