thats pretty standard for that particular boat, in stock modification, a T-1 is pretty hard to beat, but a T-1 in a 27 pitch usually gets little more top end..hope this helps
I've heard more but I was only able to get 75+gps at 6000 rpm, same equipment as yours.
Mine stock with with two guys an no load is running 75.7gps , tourny load full of fuel an two guys best so far is 73.1 but I havent had a chance to play with the boat yet gust got it broke in, mines a 08 but its the same rig. with a little warm weather the next few weeks I will let you know what I have been able to get out of her , the best I had my 06 I running was 76 GPS with a load , but some motor's are a little stronger than outhers.
I'm running 70-73 gps depending on water.Thats with light tourney load, full gas and live wells.Mine won't turn but 5800rpm's......25T1 .....3 1/2 below pad.It might just be me , but I think it ran better before the oil pump change.
It did hit 75 gps back in sept. before the oil pump change.lol
I've got an 06 20 I / 250 hpdi and I ran today with 3 guys in the boat and 3/4 fuel with full gear 70.4gps at 5900rpms. I was very pleased with that speed with 600lbs of men in the boat. My fastest speed so far is 76.4gps 6000rpms with 3/4 fuel, 2 people, 1 full livewell, and a ton of gear. In this cool weather I get to 6000 rpms very quick and I have throttle and trim left. I would like to try a 27 in the cooler weather as I think I could spin it close to 6000.

Thanks for all the response. I'm getting 5800 with the 25p. If I went to a bigger prop wouldn't that lower the RPM's? Or is the 25 prop just slipping alittle? I thought about a 4 blade prop(trophy)? I apolize before any of you die hard skeeter fans(me included) read anymore but I think 73mph for a 250 is alittle slow don't get me wrong I love my boat and if that is all she's got so be it. I just switched from a Basscat Cougar with a mercury 250 and it would GPS 83.2 with a light load all day and didn't expect to lose 10 mph with the skeeter. Now the Skeeter rides 10 times better and is a better boat all round but I would like to get 75+ out of it.
You wouldn't want to go bigger on the prop. If you had slip, you'd see higher rpms but no speed increases. A 4 blade more likely would be slower.
Stock props are notorious for being inconsistent in pitch so a bluprinted and balanced prop should guarantee that you get the most out of your prop. Motor height is also important, if it helps, mine is set to where the space between the jackplate sections on top are 2 7/8". My prop is blueprinted by Mark Croxton but I did not get any additional speed from the prop work. Mark suggested that I should be another 1/2 inch higher on my jackplate but I was too lazy to get that done last summer. I get 6000rpm by myself, about 5900 with two (full load in both instances).
If you end up raising your motor, make sure you wiggle the motor hard while you are cranking the motor up so that the jackplate moves evenly. I noticed that these jackplates can go up unevenly.
The I series is a heavy boat built for comfort. Although it is no speed demon, it is pretty respectable but needed a 250 to balance it out (most 20 footers are rated for a 225). I had a Stratos 201 ProXL with an Evinrude 225HO before this that was supposed to be a fast boat (it was and I have no complaints), but that boat only went 75 with 1 and 73 with 2, not any different than what I'm doing now, though the Skeeter carries weight much better (so if I lightened up the Stratos it probably was quicker - but who fishes tournaments by themselves, an empty gas tank and no fishing gear). At around 73mph, I have never been passed in a tournament so in real world conditions (2 people, full tanks, heavy gear), a lot of people aren't going as fast as they think, or they can't drive that speed in rough water.
Good luck with your setup, remember that your rpms should be higher in cold weather (my above rpms were summer numbers - I'm too much of a wimp to go out in the cold unles I absolutely have to).
