2003 ZX250... I pulled the little thingy ma jiggy (cap) in the middle of the steering wheel off and took the nut off. But the steering wheel won't budge. I've got a steering wheel puller if I need it, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't something else like a pin or anything that had to come out before I put the steering wheel puller on it....
You can back the nut off all the way to the end of the shaft where it is protecting the threads. Then you sit in your seat and put your knees under the wheel and apply force with them in an upward manner. While doing this you can hit the nut with a hammer one good lick and it should pop loose. Just make sure the nut is protecting the threads.
The only way I have ever gotten any steering wheel off was with a gear puller. It can damage your current steering wheel.
