I've had this problem with just about every single boat (and brands) that I have owned (not seen it in my last 2, but have not been keeping boats that long anymore). I just siliconed and put back in - holds for a while.

Use a small amount of 5 minute epoxy.

Silicone has worked for me. Seems its always the same 4 or 5 that back out.

Small dab of fiberglass epoxy in threads and screw them in for the last time!

two for two guys. I really appreciate it. I wish I would have discovered this portion off the site year ago. I have lurked on the site in the boats for sale section and used to post on the swap and sell site. In fact I bought this boat from an ad on this site and had it shipped to AZ. I just recently started posting on the boards and sold a bunch of tackle I did not need and fixed two problems with my boat. With work killing me right now, it is nice to come home and have something positive waiting for me. Thanks again guys for the advice.

    Re: (RS in AZ)

One other cure that I have used on another boat with this problem. Get some 1/4"plastic wall anchors from the hardware store. tap then into the old hole. If they don't go in all the way just snip them off with a set of diagonal pliers and install screw. This will leave the screw removable if needed in the future.

Me too, I added some 5 minute epoxy on the thread then screw them in. Did it to all of them.
