06 ZX250 tight rod locker door hard to open

The back center compartment lid rubs the passenger rod locker lid and makes it hard to open the rod locker.

This is due to the back center lids hinge being a little too flexible and the fact that there is one gas shock and when you close the lid it forces the lid to slightly lean towards the passenger side thus the rub.

I’ve tried to adjust the hinge but its so flexible that nothing seems to help

Now moving the gas shock to the other side would just cause the rub to move to the driver’s side rod locker so the answer seems to be adding a second gas shock to this compartment to equalize the pressure on the lid as it closes.

My question is has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it? And how would you do this with out having screws showing through the top of the lid and/or without cutting or destroying the carpet?

I had that issue. I don't know how they fixed it, but I had it back at the factory and whatever they did took care of it. You might give them a call.
