That is where mine goes in. Maybe if they don't install the transducer, they don't put a big hole there.

Maybe look on the inside of the hull, and if safe, then drill a hole.

Yep right in line with the rubrail insert
I would pop a 1/8 hole first and stick a wire inside and look to see where it came out

Got it!!! Drilled a small test hole like you mentioned and struck gold......got the paddle bit and opened it up, ran my cable, filled hole with silicone and put the chrome cap back on......letting the silicone dry up tonight and will pull the wire today....

you must have a warm garage, its freaking cold here, I cant work on mine this weekend. I will have to continue when it warms up, got a tournament next Saturday and I haven't started putting in rods and tackle yet.

I assume you are running this wire to your console? I plan on installing 2 new units in my 721 next week. Was it a tough chore getting the wires?

The easiest way I have found is to go to Harbor Freight and get a pack of fiberglass rods that are used to run cable thru the walls. They work like a champ... http://www.harborfreight.com/3-16-inch-x-33-ft-fiberglass-wire-running-kit-65326.html

Yes I did run my structure scan wire to the console. It wasn't that bad.....Like mentioned above I had those fiberglass rods from lowes. A LOT BETTER than the fish tape, why, cause the are straight and don't have a "curved" memory like fish tape. The best way I found to run the rods was to remove the rear light pole base as it is a straight shot from the rear to console. I ended up running a nmea cable, power cable for fuse box and transducer cable.

I ran 2 transducer cables, 2 10/2 wires, 2 16/2 wires, and 2 18/6 wires all in one pull with the fiberglass rods. yes that may sound crazy but I got a lot of goodies to add soon as it warms up.
there is plenty of room once you turn the corner around the big floater block.
