    8" Detwiler Hydro Plate

Anybody run an 8" without spacers on a ZX200 or similar size Skeeter? Is 8" enough setback? My dealer says that is all that's needed on this boat, but I don't want to lose any performance.

RWTZX runs that one but he also put the 4" spacer setback on it also. the boat came with a 12" why not stick with one

Re: 8" Detwiler Hydro Plate (MD ZX225)

I put a 10" Hydraulic on my ZX-225, and it ran like crap!

Had to get the 2" spacers to make it run right again.

My thoughts too, but they want another $300 to put the spacer on.

TMATTE- thanks. I think I need to find another way to go. I don't know anything about adding on this type of stuff.

The 10" didn't work so well. Let us know after you put the spacers in if the additional 2" helps.

    Re: (tzx200)

Derrick sd. it flies now, w/ no handling or holeshot issues. the 2" made all the difference in the world. I think he sd. it ran 72 loaded. Guess that's why Skeeter ships them w/ 12" plates, lol.

    Re: (looking4five)

I think he sd. it was w/ the re-worked 25 TXP. He still can't get above the pad, because the plate fouls the rub rail. He is gonna put a 3" Slidemaster on so he can gain more travel, and ditch the spacers. The set-up that works best is even to 3/4 above the pad, w/ a modified TXP. I am anxious to see how 13" of setback works.

    Re: (looking4five)

She runs pretty good now, the 2" spacers made all the difference in the world.
No more porpoising or blowout on hole shot. comes out of the hole like a scalded dog and runs nice and smooth at 3-4K rpm. This is with my 25 TXP, but does holeshot the same with the 26. I am going to get a 3" slidemaster plate and remove the 2" spacers so i can get the plate higher. I can only get 1" below the pad right now and i am all the way up on the motor and plate.

You have to have 12" of setback for this boat or it does run like crap...

Thanks for that info! My dealer said 8" is more than enough.... I doubted that from his lips moving.

Will have the 4" spacers without a doubt! Thanks.
