Its easy to steer until your passed 1/2 throttle and trimmed up, then it takes two hands and alot of effort to steer. Is this normal?

is this something that just started or has it been hard to steer?

Not sure on the height. I will have to measure. The prop is a 25M. I just got the boat a couple months ago and it has always been that way.
Basically anything 1/2 speed or faster, its harder to steer. RPM's between 5 and 55 @ 67mph.
I will try bleeding. Is there anything I should know before doing this? Any particular way to bleed?

I would also take the center bolt out that connects the cylinder to the engine and make sure you dont have a problem with bushing binding on engine. you should be able to turn engine by hand.
Ok guys, I removed the plug on the pump and found the fluid level very low. Stopped by the marine shop and picked up some fluid. Filled her up but havent had any help here to bleed it yet. I did fish this weekend and it was a little easier to steer, so I feel like once I bleed the air out, it may be ok.
Now just so I will know, should it steer as easy as power steering on a car?

No. On your car, there is a hydraulic pump driven by the cars engine. That is what provides the "power" in power steeering. Your boat does not have power steering, it has hydraulic steering. That is to say you are providing the power to steer it. The hydraulic system replaces the cable steering, so there is no "hardware" link between wheel and motor. But something still has to push the fluid, and that something is you! Think of it as "power steering by Armstrong"!![]()
