    Re: organizing compartments (yourgo ranger)

Welcome to the BBC, IMO, rods on port side, light tackle in center box, heavy tackle behind seats, and right box for vest, clothes, light things. just a question: why 20 rods ?

    Re: organizing compartments (Hardhead1)

    My setup is a different
No extra rods in the box, all the ones I need are usually on deck.

left box is for my spare parts ranger storage container

middle box is for my tackle, I only pack what I know they are eating into it

right box is my extra jacket, hibernet, paddle, anchor, and ranger container that has my TP, drift sock, spare line etc in it

starboard back box is empty for my co

port back box is for flares, extra bags, etc.

I suggest Stik Jackets for all those rods. You could use both port and center for your rods. Also would have room on sides of center for a few day boxes. Put your other boxes behind the seats and jackets, extras, in starboard front.

Main reason I do not keep all my gear in the boat is weight. I would have many more pounds of gear in there that would not get used excpet in the spring, fall etc.

    Re: organizing compartments (yourgo ranger)

Mine is a Z118 so it is smaller but here is a picture that I took last year before I settled on my current way of doing things:

I use the center for 6 rods (basitcasting & spinning), 8 3700's and miscellaneous stuff like my belt PFD, marker buoys, emergency kit (flares, etc), towels, etc.

My port has 12 rods (spinning + baitcasters) up to 8 ft and my Ranger storage box.

My starboard has my butt seat when I'm not using it, regular and auto-inflatable PFD's, Stowmaster net, fire extinguisher, and extra fishing line box. And sometimes my grandson's Snoopy pole.

The rear compartments I try to balance against the 15 lb. anchor (we have to carry in Ohio) which is in the rear port side, with a few more 3700's, rain suits, dock ropes, bumpers, first aid kit, extension cord, a few tools, etc.
